On March 21st, one of the most extraordinary events ever held in our Wieden + Kennedy building took place this past weekend.

For 24 hours straight, from 7 pm on Saturday night to 7 pm, Sunday night; over 350 musicians participated in an all night performance. The purpose was to commemorate the 7th anniversary of the War on Iraq (and Afghanistan).

Concepted by Bill Cane and Thomas Lauderdale, both influential musicians in Portland and made possible by Wieden + Kennedy, this unbelievable performance was yet another opportunity to show this agency's role in the community and culture at large. W+K around the world, works hard at being a strong voice in the local community.

Our atrium and agency was filled to capacity as people from all over the city came for this around-the-clock performance. Hundreds of people couldn't get in, so we had to open up the higher floors to accommodate them. The rousing finale with Taiko drummers on the bridge overlooking the atrium and a full orchestra with a choir, played an amazing musical performance to celebrate our new future.

我们韦登迪波特兰总部有名的集合空间充满了来自波特兰各地的人，来参与这个非常有意义的24 小时的音乐节目。好几百人无法进入韦登迪，所以最后我们把5楼的空间也开放了，所以更多人可以来欣赏这么美妙的音乐会。最精彩的一个演出是在最后的一小时里，好大声的日本Taiko鼓在我们5楼的天桥上演出，之后又有一个交响乐团，加上一个合唱团，演出贝多芬第九交响曲，为整个24/7下了一个完美的句点，让我们一起对未来充满希望。

PING Opens

Our new restaurant in Portland, PING, has opened. As a part of our efforts to add new vitality to old Chinatown, Studio J, in partnership with Andy Ricker (2007 Chef of the Year) and Kurt Huffman has been open for a few weeks. Thank you to all of our friends who have helped to make the opening such a success.

波特兰受到暴风雪的侵袭， 我居住在市中心西南边的山坡上，我们目前已经有十一英寸的雪累积在地上。

市中心目前已经累积有八英寸的雪。所有的高速公路都关闭了。所有的车子轮胎必须要装上雪链才能有办法开到路上。

再过几个小时之内，气象预报冰雨将会开始下来， 我们目前的低气温在一个星期之内不会回升。波特兰从来没有这么冷过！

几天前，我在波特兰的一个新家，一座日本式的船屋漂在哥伦比亚河上，这个船屋拥有日本乡村Minka式的设计，因为这种超低的气温，屋内的水管结冰之后破裂，导致屋内到处是水。但是因为天气的关系，我无法开车到船屋去察看损失有多厉害。
